OCT 2012- PLEASE BEAR WITH ME- I am still looking through records and piecing this better together for a more accurate picture. I will post a note up here when its complete. I hope to put more in on when she started different rounds of anti-fungals too...
DD had normal healthy development up until aprox 15-18month range. At that time she had a decent vocabulary and was starting to pair two words together. When I started noticing changes around 15mos it was mostly with language and behavior... I shrugged a lot of it off because she was still making other developmental milestones and seemed typical in a lot of ways (started climbing out of the crib/ learning to use door handles to open and close doors etc). By 2 years of age it was very obvious something just wasn't right with her sleeping and her language so I reported it to her pediatrician... It was not until almost 2 years later that I connected her regression to a viral infection brought on by a vaccine reaction that she had at 13 mos old. It was so gradual that it was hard to know but the things she has been diagnosed with as underlying conditions of her autistic behaviors fit. The timeline is below:
Nov 2007 born healthy and happy!
Feb 2008 RSV
Nov-Dec 2008 1 Year old!- chest cold, heart murmur due to prolonged cold.
---------------------
Dec 19, 2008 Vaccinated with pediatric flu shot.
Dec 22-24, 2008 Screaming for hours, then vomiting, diarrhea, fever
Dec 24, 2008 still diarrhea and lethargic and slept through Christmas eve celebrations
Dec 25-28 recovery
Feb 2009- slight changes, start noticing sensory issues...less talking, disrupted sleep/night waking
Oct 2009- difficulty waving goodbye (something she was able to do before)...night waking continues, irritability, foggy...

----------------------------------
May-July 2010- Move to new state
Aug 2010- Spoke to new pediatrician about our concerns with night waking and language. She thought language might be tied to lack of sleep...so give melatonin a good 6 mo trial.
